Our success can be attributed to astute management, strong client relations, investment in staff and a genuine focus on giving the extra 10% as a cohesive and integrated team. At Pensar we encourage teamwork and continual improvement whilst abiding by our core values of being respectful, patient, flexible, accountable and focussed.

Our business is people.

Our strategic direction focuses on people as our best asset, creating a new and exciting opportunity for a full-time Human Resources Manager to join our team in South Brisbane.

This position reports to the Managing Director and works closely with the WHS Manager. In addition, you will provide HR support, guidance and leadership to a group of Divisional General Managers.

Taking on a wide scope of responsibilities, this role will be responsible for implementing and delivering effective processes to grow our workforce, with a focus on compliance and risk mitigation throughout.

Key areas of responsibility will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Coaching business leaders to best provide leadership to their reports;
  • Suggesting improvements and auditing contracts;
  • Participating in pre-starts on site;
  • Setting up structures around regular meetings/forums to communicate activity business-wide;
  • Overseeing recruitment, on-boarding and employer branding;
  • Managing the life cycle of each employee;
  • Facilitating our people's ability to grow their careers, including appropriate structuring of KPIs, developing an employee incentive scheme, and succession planning;
  • Fostering and shaping the culture of our business as we continue to grow, including the integration of site and office culture;
  • Creating and delivering training programs;
  • Managing the Employee Assistance Program;
  • Creating policies around diversity and inclusion; and
  • Developing internal campaigns in line with wider business goals.

Who we're looking for...

If you're going to be successful in this position, you must have the following:

  • A Degree in HR
  • Significant experience in a generalist HR position
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a large workforce (ideally a fragmented workforce with satellite offices)
  • The ability to communicate articulately with stakeholders of all levels and backgrounds
  • A professional approach and appearance
  • A growth mindset

But that's not all.

We're looking for an ambitious, proactive individual who's willing to put in the hard work to get things done. You'll have a seat at the table as an important influencer within our business, but will also be expected to lead by example and walk the talk when it comes to running this key business function.

Confidence (not ego) will be key in this empowerment role. You'll be the expert in all compliance matters, and the go-to person for everything HR. You will communicate and lead with authenticity, and your emotional intelligence will ensure you successfully navigate the introduction of change in line with the existing business tempo.

You'll be a sharp performer who brings high energy to our performance-based culture. Ultimately, you'll be responsible for demonstrating how pivotal the HR function is within our business structure.

Importantly, we're looking for someone who's going to believe in our business, live and breathe our culture, and who's in it for the long run. If you're applying with a short-term 'implement changes and leave' mindset, this is not the role for you. You'll be passionate about what you're doing, with a true desire to become part of Pensar's journey.

Why choose Pensar?

Pensar is a fast-moving, ever changing business and we're undergoing an exciting growth phase. It's a great time to come on board and contribute to our high performing leadership team.

If you're after a position that allows you autonomy and freedom to truly influence the future of an agile business, you've found it here.

With a firm business plan and structure in place, you'll be well supported and have a strong starting point from which to launch the HR function in the direction you see fit. Not to mention, the nature of our business structure allows us to implement new processes quickly, so you'll be able to see the direct impact of your best practice initiatives from the start.
